Founded in 2018, the Russian Ecological Society (RES) is a nationwide public organization for the conservation and protection of natural resources. The climate agenda features prominently in the activities of the RES. One of the key objectives of this agenda is to convey the need for measures to adapt to current and projected climate change to the authorities responsible for these matters and coordinating the necessary steps in this direction, to businesses that need to understand how their activities affect climate risks, and to the general public. One of RES major projects, the Climate Expedition, was launched in 2021 in the Arkhangelsk Oblast and continued in 2022 in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The main objective of the project is to focus the attention of authorities, businesses, and society on realistic ways to mitigate the effects of climate change and reasonable plans for adapting to such changes. The article presents the main provisions of the Russian Ecological Society’s climate agenda, as well as the program and results of the 2021 and 2022 climate expeditions.
