The formation of mixed-ligand complexes of different composition in the systems M(II) – L-histidine (His) – L (M = Ni, Zn; L = L-lysine (Lys), L-arginine (Arg)) has been studied by pH-metry and spectrophotometry methods and their formation constants have been calculated at 298.15 K and ionic strength = 0.5 mol/L (KNO). Based on the comparative analysis of the coproportioning reaction constants, the dentativity of the ligands was evaluated and the most probable way of coordination of amino acid residues in the mixed complexes was proposed.
