Maintaining public transportation for the elderly is an important issue. Therefore, to understand the changes in bus stop placement due to the effects of altitude differences that hinder the elderly from going out, we used a genetic algorithm and Dijkstra’s algorithm to construct a bus stop placement model, considering road distance and slope travel load. The analysis indicated that bus stop placement is not strongly influenced by altitude itself when considered alongside the distribution of the elderly population. However, the results suggested that bus stop intervals and altitude have a greater influence on the optimal number of bus stops.
