We conducted a retrospective cohort study across four UK centres to establish whether therapeutic drug monitoring and dose escalation of adalimumab up to 80 mg weekly improved patient outcomes. This study represents one of the largest cohorts examining therapeutic drug monitoring and high-dose adalimumab in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa. Unlike previous studies, we did not observe significant mean improvements across standardized outcome measures, despite over 50% of patients being assessed by their clinicians as showing overall improvement.
