Abstract

Thrombocytopenia, a condition marked by low platelet levels, occurs in 12% to 20% of women with preeclampsia (PRE) and can significantly disrupt normal blood clotting. Women with PRE are known to face elevated risks of serious complications such as cerebral hemorrhage, thromboembolism, and postpartum hemorrhage. However, existing research on how PRE affects platelet function and coagulation has yielded inconsistent findings. This study aimed to examine platelet aggregation and coagulation patterns in women with PRE compared with those with normotensive pregnancies.
