Open data initiatives in Morocco have been implemented to enhance transparency and accountability in government operations. A comprehensive search strategy was employed across databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar, with inclusion criteria based on the relevance of studies addressing open data in Moroccan governance contexts. Studies were assessed for methodological rigor and thematic coherence using established systematic review protocols. The analysis identified a growing trend towards integrating open data into governmental transparency efforts, particularly in sectors like public procurement and environmental management, where significant improvements have been reported in the quality of information available to citizens. While open data initiatives show promise for enhancing governance transparency, challenges remain related to data accessibility, user engagement, and institutional support. To maximise benefits, policymakers should prioritise robust legal frameworks, public education campaigns, and continuous monitoring of data usage in government operations.
