Purpose Cyber threat intelligence (CTI) platforms offer enterprises innovative approaches to managing cybersecurity. Effective CTI management contributes to improved organizational cybersecurity performance. This study aims to examine how CTI capability influences information security innovation management capability (ISIMC) and, subsequently, cybersecurity performance, based on the theoretical framework of CTI capability. Design/methodology/approach This study collected data from employees engaged in information systems and security management across various industries in Taiwan. A total of 311 valid responses were obtained and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modelling to validate the proposed research model. Findings This study suggests that organizations should foster an environment that enables employees to engage in innovative information security management practices. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of governmental support in establishing robust and industry-driven CTI frameworks to facilitate collaborative information security management in the future. Originality/value This study investigates the management capabilities of information systems personnel within CTI platforms. By leveraging CTI platforms, organizations can enhance their cybersecurity performance. The findings of this research offer both practical implications for organizational cybersecurity practices and theoretical contributions to the academic discourse on CTI capability and information security management.
