Aquaculture in coastal West Africa is crucial for food security, yet its dynamics are not fully understood within Eswatini's agricultural landscape. A comprehensive systematic literature search was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, following PRISMA guidelines. Studies published between and were included. The review identified a significant trend in the adoption of integrated aquaculture systems (IAs) that combine fish farming with crop cultivation, increasing food productivity by up to 60% in some regions. Aquaculture development is essential for enhancing food security; however, it requires tailored policy interventions and supportive infrastructure to maximise benefits and minimise environmental impacts. Policy makers should prioritise the establishment of IAs and support their implementation through targeted investments and regulatory frameworks. The empirical specification follows Y=₀+^ X+, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
