I am deeply honored to have been entrusted with the presidency of this institute, which marks its 109th year of history and tradition, and I am keenly aware of the immense responsibility of the role.While respecting the achievements of my predecessor, former President Furusho, I will work together with all members to further drive forward the activities of the institute.I look forward to your continued cooperation.I do not come from what is typically considered a STEM background.At university, I studied social sciences.After graduating, I joined Iwasaki Electric Co., Ltd., where I spent 42 years gaining experience in numerous departments.My first experience with the Illuminating Engineering Institute of Japan was in my second year at the company, when I took part in a course to train as a lighting consultant.I still have fond memories of that time, rushing to meet deadlines while completing exercises and writing reports for the course.This experience proved very useful, serving as the backbone of my sales activities.For this reason, I wholeheartedly encourage all those involved in the lighting industry to take this course.I also remember assisting with the application process for the IEIJ Good Lighting Award.As for more recent memories, I look back fondly on the 100th anniversary celebration of the
