Lost gems of Soviet cinema. The films of Georgi Tasin and Mykola Shpykovskyi under a musical lens, following the world premiere at Filmoteca Española and Festival Internacional Alborada Clásica, of the two film commisisons. This study adopts a practice-based research approach in which the process of composing a new musical score becomes a form of analytical engagement with the film. Through the creation and performance ofthe scores, the composer examines narrative structure, rhythm of editing, visual symbolism, and important historical information. The resulting scores therefore function both as artistic interpretation of the film work and as a form of film analysis.
