Côte d'Ivoire's economy has been increasingly recognised for its dual nature, with a significant portion of economic activity occurring within the informal sector. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from national surveys with qualitative interviews focusing on key sectors such as agriculture and services. A notable finding is that the informal economy contributes approximately 40% to Côte d'Ivoire's GDP, highlighting its substantial economic importance despite regulatory challenges. The study underscores the necessity for a more inclusive approach in economic policies that recognise and support the informal sector rather than marginalizing it. Policymakers should consider integrating measures to enhance the legal status of informal enterprises and provide them with necessary resources to grow sustainably.
