The deliverable “Analytical framework – which aspects should be considered? “ is part of Task Area Two (TA2) of NFDI4Energy, "Integrating Society and Policy in Energy Research." It fits TA2 by addressing society and policy in the form of integration societal aspects and providing policy recommendations for (political) stakeholder. The project deliverable comprises a research paper entitled “Energy asset stranding in re source-rich developing countries and the just transition – A framework to push research frontiers”, co-authored with Prof. Dr. Franziska Holz from the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). The article was published as a Conceptual Framework Analysis in the peer reviewed journal Frontiers in Environmental Economics (Section: Energy Economics), Volume 3, 2024, as full open access. The paper offers a framework to help to identify data needs to study societal aspects of fossil energy assets standing and their relation to social acceptance. Also, policy recommendations for proposed for integrating societal acceptance into energy transition strategies and focuses on the socially relevant issue of energy asset stranding to highlight the broader societal aspects and consequences that shape political acceptance.
