Compucell3D is a C++ and Python-based software environment coupling agent-based models for cellular processes to reaction-diffusion partial differential equation models for chemicals in the cellular microenvironment. In this work we compared two scaffolds based on honeycomb structures using Compucell3D in order to find the best structure for cell protrusion. Origami-based dynamic scaffolds are designed based on the results of the simulations.
