William Bengston's landmark experiments demonstrated that (1) skeptical practitioners can heal cancer-injected mice via a non-contact "image cycling" technique; (2) control animals in the same building also heal; and (3) healing energy can be stored in water and transmitted to naive recipients. This paper asks: **what exactly was stored in the water, and could quartz be a superior storage medium?**
