Local symmetry engineering in SrLaInO 4 :Eu 3+ promotes the 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 transition, resulting in high-purity red emission for solid-state lighting. Judd–Ofelt analysis indicates a large Ω 2 value, revealing enhanced local asymmetry and Eu–O covalency.
