A new septic functional equation is considered in this paper and its general solution is obtained in a Banach space setting, and thus a general solution to the general septic functional equation is indirectly obtained in this paper. The Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability results for the considered septic functional equation are also obtained using the direct method of Hyers as well as the fixed point method.
