With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, noise pollution has become a global environmental problem, causing serious impacts on human health, psychology and social stability. Textile‐based sound‐absorbing and noise‐reducing materials show great potential for application in the field of noise control due to their advantages of light weight, high porosity, and excellent processability. This article provides a detailed review of the sound absorption mechanisms and performance testing methods for textile materials, systematically summarizing the characteristics and research progress of porous, resonant, and damping sound‐absorbing materials. It focuses on strategies for optimizing sound absorption performance through the design of gradient, multilayer, and composite structures, aiming to break through the performance limitations of traditional materials. More importantly, this review details performance target values and relevant industry standards for various materials across different application scenarios, including architectural acoustics, automotive and transportation, aerospace, and personal protection. These efforts bridge the gap between experimental research and practical application, providing a reference for the precise selection of sound‐absorbing materials. Finally, it outlines future development directions for textile‐based sound‐absorbing and noise‐reducing materials, providing a theoretical reference for promoting high‐performance, intelligent, and environmentally friendly sound‐absorbing and noise‐reducing materials.
