Does endovascular stent-graft repair affect aortic pulse wave velocity in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms?
Endovascular stent-graft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms is associated with a significant increase in aortic pulse wave velocity, a marker of arterial stiffness.
Patients with AAA present with significantly elevated PWV levels compared to controls, and stent-graft repair is associated with a significant increase in the PWV. Whether those changes contribute to the cardiovascular risk in AAA patients needs further investigation.
