Purpose This study aims to investigate the influence of entrepreneurial passion on the commitment of social enterprises in toward sustainability. By examining how different dimensions of entrepreneurial passion affect organizational commitment, this research seeks to provide insights into enhancing sustainability practices within social enterprises. Design/methodology/approach A structured questionnaire was distributed to 300 social enterprises. The study uses quantitative analysis techniques, including structural equation modeling, factor analysis and mediation analysis, to evaluate the relationships between entrepreneurial passion and organizational commitment. Findings The results indicate that entrepreneurial passion significantly impacts the commitment of social enterprises toward sustainability. Specific dimensions of passion, such as intensity and focus, were found to be crucial in shaping organizational behaviors and attitudes toward sustainable practices. Practical implications The findings suggest that fostering entrepreneurial passion can enhance the commitment of social enterprises to sustainability. Practitioners can leverage these insights to develop strategies that align entrepreneurial passion with sustainability goals, thereby improving organizational performance and impact. Originality/value This study fills a gap in the literature by exploring the role of entrepreneurial passion in the context of social enterprises, with a focus on sustainability. It contributes to understanding how passion influences organizational commitment and provides a framework for enhancing sustainability practices through passionate leadership.
