We frequently listen to singing voices with accompaniment in daily life; however, research on pitch perception under such conditions remains limited. This study examined pitch judgment of singing voices presented simultaneously with accompaniment, using a familiar melody and an unfamiliar melody. Results showed that pitch tolerance was significantly higher in the unfamiliar condition than in the familiar condition. While this result did not support findings from previous studies conducted without simultaneous accompaniment, responses to pitch changes of the target tone in descending melodies showed different tendencies when the target tone pitch was higher versus lower relative to the reference pitch.
