The article analyzes museum excursions as one of the most effective mechanisms for promoting cultural heritage. Excursions strengthen intergenerational continuity through lively and scientifically grounded narratives about historical and cultural objects. Theoretical and practical aspects are examined based on Uzbekistan’s experience (Cultural Heritage Agency and state museums) and international standards (ICOM, UNESCO). Special attention is paid to the advantages of museum staff performing guiding functions and a comparative analysis with tour guide. The purpose of the study is to reveal the cultural-educational and promotional significance of museum excursions and to propose ways for their further development.
