Rapid urbanisation across Indian cities has created an urgent need for intelligent, data driven tools that assist city planners, government administrators, and urban researchers in making informed decisions. This paper presents Smart UrbanAI, a fully functional web-based smart urban planning and decision support system developed using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Leaflet.js, Chart.js, and the Anthropic Claude Sonnet generative AI API. The system provides an interactive GIS map of Hyderabad with 46 color-coded zones, nine or more real-time data visualisation charts covering traffic congestion, air quality index (AQI), energy consumption, water usage, and population density, an AI-powered chatbot capable of answering complex urban planning queries across six major Indian cities, and a multi-parameter sustainability scoring engine. The platform is deployed on GitHub Pages as a zero-backend, single-file application accessible via any modern browser. Smart UrbanAI establishes a novel application of Large Language Models (LLMs) in the domain of smart city infrastructure and urban computing.
