The Chutia community was an oldest indigenous ethnic group of Assam. In ancient times, the Chutia people played a significant role in forming a nation. They were the pioneers in developing the region and their society has been shaped by their rich cultural traditions and social norms. Chutia women have been an integral part of this society, playing a crucial role in preserving the community's heritage and contributing to the social and economic development of their society. Historically, they were part of a matrilineal society, but later shifted to a patrilineal system. Chutia women have played a significant part in preserving the community's traditions, language, and culture and religious practices despite historical challenges. They have the great contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of their society. Queen Sati Sadhani best exemplifies their social responsibility. Her leadership and sacrifice make her a benchmark of community-first values and early women’s empowerment among Chutia women .The study highlights the importance of recognizing and appreciating the efforts of Chutia women in shaping their community.
