A theoretical study of plasmon damping in a hBN-Graphene-hBN stack due to graphene acoustic phonons and hBN optical phonons shows that the graphene acoustic phonons are the dominant plasmon scatterers. This study predicts that hBN-Graphene-hBN structures can host gate tunable lowloss plasmons in the mid-infrared spectral range.
