Childhood obesity is a growing concern globally, affecting over 340 million children (WHO, 2020). Studies show game-based education programs can promote healthy lifestyles among school children. In Kerala, 12.6% of school children are overweight or obese (Kumar et al., 2017). This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of a snake and ladder game-based education program in promoting knowledge and attitude regarding healthy lifestyle among school children in Trivandrum. Promoting healthy lifestyles among school children is crucial. Healthy habits formed in childhood reduce chronic disease risk and improve quality of life (WHO, 2018). Many children lack knowledge and attitude for healthy habits. Traditional teaching methods are often ineffective. Innovative approaches are needed to engage children. Game-based education is a potential solution. Games promote learning and behavior change, especially among children (Gee, 2007). The snake and ladder game can teach children about healthy lifestyles. Incorporating health content into the game can improve knowledge and attitude. This approach may influence behavior and promote positive health outcomes. This study investigates the effectiveness of a snake and ladder game-based education program. The program aims to improve knowledge and attitude regarding healthy lifestyles among school children. The study focuses on promoting healthy habits through interactive learning. Healthy lifestyles can be promoted through engaging education. This research will contribute to the development of effective health education programs. The objectives of the study have to find out the effectiveness of snake and ladder game-based education on knowledge and attitude regarding healthy lifestyle among school children, find out the association between the level of knowledge among school-aged children with their selected demographic data the methods used were pre-experimental study was chosen, one group pre-test - posttest was used for this study simple random sampling technique was used for this study sample size of 60 school aged children of age 6-12 are selected a structured questionnaire and attitude scale was used to assess the knowledge and attitude then the collected data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics based on pre-defined objectives of the study. The result was the present study the assessment of pretest knowledge regarding healthy lifestyle among school aged children scores show that 6.6% have good knowledge level,81.6% have average knowledge level ,11.6% have poor knowledge level. In pretest attitude 0% have good attitude ,48.33% have average attitude and 51.66% have poor attitude. Correlation of improvement of knowledge and attitude and snake and ladder game-based education that there is positive correlation between the knowledge and attitude and snake and ladder game-based education, the P value was 0.0001. Chi-square test revealed that there was significant association between posttest level of knowledge and attitude with selected demographic It concluded by the study findings revealed that snake and ladder game-based education regarding healthy lifestyle among school aged children is effective in improving knowledge and attitude. There is a positive relation between knowledge and selected demographic variables. School aged children must know about the causes of unhealthy lifestyles. The snake and ladder game-based education will help to improve the knowledge and attitude regarding the adverse effects of unhealthy lifestyle.
