Statement of the problem. Based on the analysis, consider the historical and cultural heritage of Russia's horse-breeding complexes founded in the mid-18th and early 19th centuries. The main components of the overall structure are identified. The purpose of the study is to identify the prerequisites for the further sustainable development of territories of a complex hierarchical object (demoecosystem) with a production objective function and its further impact on the formation of a new agritourist environment. The identification and classification of factors that determine the functioning of horse-breeding complexes should be one of the crucial factors in making final decisions regarding their transformation. Results. The features of preserving architectural and cultural heritage have been studied and defined on the example of the conducted research of one of the state stud farms founded in the Russian Empire. Scientific and public interest in national treasures is increasing. Modern opportunities provide opportunities for studying and replenishing information. Conclusions. The need for the development of a tourist and recreational network with the involvement of the architectural heritage of the region's historical and cultural environment has been identified. The results of the study can be used in the development of regional transformation projects.
