Desk based assessment draws together the available archaeological, historic, topographic and land-use information in order to clarify the heritage significance and archaeological potential of the site. The assessment has identified no nationally significant heritage assets within the study site boundary which might justify a refusal to grant consent for development. The detailed review of the available evidence undertaken by this assessment has shown that the study site has a low potential for remains of archaeological interest to be present. However, the presence of prehistoric and/or Roman remains cannot be entirely ruled out. Should remains be present it is unlikely that they will be no more than local significance and so are not a design constraint.
