This study investigates the mechanical performance of modified concrete incorporating zinc powder and polypropylene fibres. An M40 grade concrete mix using OPC 53 grade cement and 20 mm coarse aggregate was adopted. The experimental program included compressive strength and split tensile strength tests. Initially, conventional concrete specimens were prepared, followed by mixes containing 1% zinc powder by weight of cement. Further, polypropylene fibres were added at varying percentages (0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%) while maintaining constant zinc content. Specimens were tested at 14 days, with selected samples reserved for 28-day testing. Results indicate that the inclusion of zinc powder and fibres enhances tensile performance and crack resistance, with optimum fibre content improving overall mechanical properties. The study highlights the potential of hybrid modified concrete for improved durability and strength.
