Summary A pedigree of split‐hand (Graham & Badgley, 1955), in which several new mutants appear simultaneously in collateral lines, is tentatively explained on the basis of delayed mutation which resulted in two generations of gonadic mosaics. Parallel cases in Drosophila and the rabbit are described.
