The aim of the work is to identify and describe the event code of Russian linguistic culture in liturgical texts in the aspect of studying Russian religious discourse and the Orthodox concept sphere. The object of the study is the event code of domestic linguistic culture. The subject of the research is specific word usages that, in their semantic volume, contain information about the event code of Russian linguistic culture. The material for the analysis was the liturgical text, including the canon and akathist dedicated to St. Seraphim of Vyritsa. The theoretical part of the work presents an analysis of the existing typologies of linguistic cultural codes. The practical part of the article is devoted to describing the meanings of words that represent the event code of Russian linguistic culture in the Russian religious text. Attention is drawn to how the usage of words and word combinations connects extralinguistic reality with the attitude towards it in the Orthodox liturgical text. The linguistic material was obtained through a continuous sampling method. In identifying the semantics of units reflecting the event linguistic cultural code, contextual, component, and quantitative analysis methods were used. The article analyzes both proper names (Vyritsa, Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Seraphim of Sarov) and appellative vocabulary reflecting in the liturgical text the events of the earthly life of St. Seraphim of Vyritsa and events from the Soviet era of the early to mid-20th century. The author concludes that the event code of Russian linguistic culture reveals itself in the Russian religious text through the Church Slavonic part of the Russian language, recording and reflecting historical events in the country through the prism of the physical (earthly) life of the saint and his spiritual feats. The scientific novelty of this work lies in the application of the linguistic-cultural approach to the liturgical text, in which, for the first time, it is proposed to isolate the event code, allowing for a unified study of the liturgical text in discursive, linguocognitive, and linguistic-cultural contexts. The work can be useful in researching linguistic cultural codes while studying Russian religious texts, their discursive parameters, and concept spheres.
