A novel method of controlling a cycloconverter is described, in which a microprocessor calculates in real-time the SCR triggering instants as a function of the required output frequency and amplitude. The software for the microprocessor and the hardware for the interface are developed. The limitations and benefits are discussed with respect to conventional analog control.
