Abstract Many public universities are facing severe constraints on the resources allocated to them by state governments. At the same time, persisting demands are placed on faculty to deliver an increasing number of courses and other educational services to citizens at remote corners of the state. One way to solve this paradoxical problem could be to use the Internet technology for instruction. This article summarizes classroom experiments by business faculty using the Internet for instructional purposes and as a distance education tool. Eight methods of using Internet in business classes are described, and the possible impact of Internet use in business education and its limitations are analyzed.
