Abstract

Its Observance on Days 7, 14, 21, and 28 of Each Lunar Month This MESSAGE restores Al-Sabt as the recurring Day of Rest identified through the stations of the Moon on days 7, 14, 21, and 28 of each lunar month. It distinguishes Al-Sabt from perpetual civil Saturday, examines the 7 s-b-t occurrences in 5 Sabbath ayat and the complete root corpus, and sets out the Qur’anic warnings against transgression. Al-Jumuʿah is examined as the preceding day for obtaining provisions. The MESSAGE does not prescribe ritual details; each reader must examine the Qur’anic rule of rest and decide honestly before God whether an action is active pursuit of provisions.
