Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aim to control (yoke) and still the mind, recognizing a detached witness consciousness untouched by the mind (Chitta) and mundane suffering (Dukha). Perceived stress is the feelings or thoughts that an individual has about how much stress they are under at a given point in time or over a given time period. Being mindful is paying active attention to the here and now. Seeing one's thoughts and feelings without assigning them a positive or negative value is the definition of this state. This research is focused on college students, focusing on providing yoga intervention to decrease perceived stress and increase mindfulness.
