This study examined the challenges of the early childhood literature curriculum within traditional, standardized education. Based on this analysis, it proposed a narrative-based approach to guide curriculum development. This study aims to systematize the educational content and present effective educational goals, selection and organization of educational content, teaching-learning and evaluation direction so that early childhood literature education using narrative can contribute to children's holistic development. Literature analysis and qualitative case study methods were well integrated to solve the research problem. As a result, first, the problems of the current early childhood literature curriculum were analyzed and the relevance of the narrative approach was examined. Second, the relationship between the narrative thinking method and the early childhood literature curriculum was explored. Third, the meaning of the narrative-based was revealed. Fourth, based on a curriculum in which the narrative and early childhood experiences are integrated, this study explored the direction of setting early childhood literature education goals, selecting and organizing early childhood literature education content, teaching-learning method, and evaluation method. Fifth, the consideration for the practice of early childhood literature curriculum and the role of teachers were discussed. Therefore, this is a future-oriented teaching method, which will help the theory and actual development of the early childhood curriculum later thanks to the study on the development of early childhood literature education based on the narrative.
