The article reveals the relevance of issues of inclusive design in the conditions of training students of the «Environmental Design» faculty of Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. A detailed analysis of the tasks of the three departments of this faculty indicates that the problem of creating an inclusive design product in today's conditions is becoming more and more urgent. In addition, the new processes that arose in society due to changes in the attitude towards persons with disabilities, made it possible to determine the relevance of this direction and contributed to the renewal of educational programs, which was reflected in the tasks of such disciplines as: «Design» (Environmental Design Department), «Conceptual Design» (Department of Architectural and Landscape Environment Design), «Universal Design" (Department of Pedagogy, Ukrainian and Foreign Philology), «Inclusive Design» (Department of Pedagogy, Ukrainian and Foreign Philology), «Conceptual Design» (Fabric and Clothing Design department), as well as in the performance of the qualification work of «bachelor» and «master» level students . It is worth noting that as part of the training of students of the «Environmental Design» faculty, this direction is one of the fundamental ones, which allows students to focus on the real problems of society and place the main emphasis on the disclosure of students' concepts. For example, during the semester assignment, students have the opportunity to gain experience communicating with people with disabilities, identify their main problematic issues and take into account all received recommendations in creating their own design proposal based on an individual approach or develop an individual program of a master class in art therapy. The results of the students' works testify to their personal changes in the perception of people with health conditions, the development of a tolerant attitude towards them and the disclosure of the creative potential of students, where the main indicators of their professionalism are: flexibility of thinking, creativity, the search for non-standard project solutions based on an individual approach and a conscious attitude to the problems of people with disabilities.
