The theses present an analysis of the impact of the war on the psychological state of the population of Ukraine on the example of the documentary “20 Days in Mariupol” and the testimonies of witnesses. A group of journalists lived side by side with the city’s residents during this time. People who managed to escape from the occupation talk about their bygones, the loss of their homes and the difficulties of getting used to a “new” life. They write books, organize volunteer help, and continue to bring victory closer. The work is based on the review of the visual and verbal content of the film, using psychological and sociological approaches to the study of trauma. The theses highlight examples of the heroic survival of the Ukrainian people and the unexpected challenges that have arisen in the context of a full-scale war since 2022.
