This study investigates the role and impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in contemporary dental practices. As the field of dentistry continues to evolve, the integration of ICT has become essential for enhancing efficiency, improving patient care, and optimizing clinical outcomes. The research combines a review of relevant literature with a small-scale survey conducted among dental assisting students to assess their knowledge, attitudes, and awareness regarding ICT applications in dental settings. Key areas of ICT integration identified include digital radiography, electronic health records, appointment management systems, patient education platforms, and teledentistry. The findings indicate that while students generally acknowledge the value of ICT, their familiarity with specific tools and technologies varies considerably. Independent research further supports that ICT not only streamlines clinical and administrative workflows but also enhances diagnostic accuracy, patient engagement, and treatment planning. The results underscore the need to incorporate comprehensive ICT training within dental assisting education to ensure graduates are equipped for the profession’s technological demands. Additionally, the study advocates for greater investment in digital infrastructure within dental practices to fully leverage the benefits of emerging technologies. Overall, this research highlights that effective ICT implementation significantly contributes to improved patient care and operational efficiency in the modern dental office.
