The aggravation of international situation has a significant impact on the environmental policy of the Russian Federation. This article analyzes transformation of Russia’s environmental policy in the new geopolitical conditions, considering changes in priorities, legal regulation and practical implementation of environmental protection measures. Special attention is paid to the priorities of international cooperation in the field of ecology, import substitution of environmental technologies, reorientation to domestic resources and possible consequences for the environmental safety of the country. The article also explores potential risks and opportunities associated with the revision of environmental standards and the reduction of control over industrial enterprises under sanctions pressure. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that it is necessary to adapt environmental policy to new challenges while maintaining the priorities of sustainable development and ensuring the environmental safety of the population.
