The role of social projects in the development of family values in Russian small territories (based on the results of a sociological study in the Perm region)

The article is devoted to the study of social projects aimed at developing family values in modern Russia, using the example of the sociological study of small territories of Perm region. The changes in family policy and the «turn» towards strengthening traditional family values in the past few years are analyzed. The significant role of the federal and regional levels, including the national projects, Rosmolodezh, the Presidential and Governor’s Grants Funds, Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation are emphasized. The features and significance of small territories are noted. The analysis of the concepts of "family", "values" and "family values" is carried out, various approaches and classifications to the allocation of family values are considered. The results of the analysis of 32 informal semi-structured interviews with the representatives of government bodies, various public and volunteer organizations in six municipal districts of Perm region with different levels of socio-economic development, as well as with the urban and rural population are presented. The main features and some of the most interesting practices associated with social projects aimed at family values in these small territories are described. The main conclusion is that the more socio-economically developed small territories are, the more attention they pay to the family sphere and family values, and the social projects they carry out are more comprehensive.
