With the election of Augustus II the Strong from the House of Wettin as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, the fates of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Electorate of Saxony were in some way intertwined. The following paper focuses on the changes in the army of the Commonwealth, which took place under the clear influence of Saxony. Due to the extensiveness of the topic, the paper has been oriented towards their most important features.
