The aim of this research is to develop a methodological strategy aimed at teaching B1 level foreign medical students Russian language communication skills using authentic video clips from the “Yeralash” film magazine as a means of developing communicative and socio-cultural competence in a foreign language classroom. The article develops a methodology for working with artistic video clips and offers practical recommendations for its use in lessons on the topic “Health”. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that “Yeralash” video clips are considered as a tool for the formation of communicative and socio-cultural competences in the context of professionally oriented teaching of Russian as a foreign language in medical universities. The research findings indicate an increase in the motivation of foreign students to master the Russian language, as well as an improvement in the quality and effectiveness of training when using authentic video content.
