The chatbots potential in automating repetitive tasks and fostering self-directed learning enables overcoming communication barriers in educational technologies. These technologies provides feasible improvements in enhancing electronic educational environments. This paper aims to address the challenge of providing prompt academic assistance and proficient resource searching through the inclusion of chatbots in learning management system. This system harnesses the power of machine learning and NLP to create an intelligent chatbot that assists students with their inquiries, provides contextual resource pointers, and performs administrative functions. The research focuses on the design and implementation of a modular chatbot framework, beginning with an LMS called Moodle, followed by user engagement testing and benchmarking performance metrics using a task-centric approach. This research compares LMS navigational experience with chatbot-assisted navigation from the perspectives of response time to queries, enhancement of user satisfaction, and increase in completion rate for tasks evaluation. Chatbots are potential accomplices to assist in automating monotonous academic activities which help learners take charge of their learning by allowing them to set their suitable schedule and work on tasks autonomously. Findings depict that the user experience in elture is significantly improved, support response time is reduced, and learner performance is sharpened.
