The research aims to explain the theoretical foundations of foreign direct investment and find out the impact of some economic stability indicators on foreign direct investment in the Iraqi economy, as well as measuring and analyzing the relationship between economic stability indicators and foreign direct investment in the Iraqi economy for the period (2004-2023). The research relied on the descriptive analytical approach within the framework of financial and economic literature, theories, and studies, and the standard quantitative approach based on econometrics, by applying modern standard methods. The results of the standard analysis showed that there is a direct relationship between the exchange rate and foreign direct investment, while the relationship is inverse between economic growth and foreign direct investment in the long term. The research concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which was working to create an economic environment that encourages foreign direct investments by setting laws and simplifying procedures that protect the foreign investor and encourage him to invest his money in the country in question.
