Motivation: With metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)-related conditions attracting increased attention in recent years, identification of fatty deposits in the liver have become extremely important. Two-point Dixon is one method of quantitative assessment of fatty liver. Goal(s): Quantitative evaluation of fatty liver with chemical shift encoded MRI (CSE-MRI). Our goal was to clarify the effect of the three sequencing methods on the determination of the fat-fraction using two MRI systems, and to demonstrate the advantages of the two point-Dixon methods. Approach: Six point-Dixon and two point-Dixon sequences was used to scan volunteers and compare the fat-fraction. Results: The three sequencing methods demonstrated consistency. Impact: This study demonstrated that different MRI systems and sequences have little impact on the accuracy of fat-fraction measurements. The versatile two-point Dixon has advantages in the initial search for fatty liver patients because it is not limited by MRI systems.
