ABSTRACTHuman action is mostly determined and motivated by many factors and values which serve as guides that determine behavior. The role of religious values and ethics in shaping the development trajectory of communities and nations cannot be overemphasized with reference to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number ten, eleven and twelve (Reduced inequalities, Sustainable cities and communities and Responsible consumption and production). This paper looked into how nations and communities can harness the positive impacts and potential of religious faiths and values for sustainable development. The paper concludes by stating how policy makers can explore the religious teachings in their strategic outlook in reshaping the nation towards sustainable development.
