The present study is investigating the influence of school locality and gender on attitude towards science, academic motivation and life skills of higher secondary students from science stream. To explore these aspects, the researcher examined attitude towards science, academic motivation and life skills of 100 higher secondary science students from urban and rural higher secondary schools in West Bengal. The present investigator utilized three standardized scales to collect data these are- Adolescents' Holistic Scientific Attitude Scale by Gaikwad and Sonawane (2018), Academic Motivation Inventory by Misra, K.S. (2020) and Life Skills Scale (LSS-KCTA) by Chandra Kumari and Ayushi Tripathi (2019). To analyze the data statistically mean, standard deviation were computed and Multiple Analysis of Variance was conducted. The results revealed that students’ academic motivation and attitude towards science varied among locality of schools and gender. Life skills showed no variation across gender categories and locality. Therefore, this study shows that attitude towards science, academic motivation and life skills of higher secondary students of science streams are influenced by locality of schools and gender.
