Abstract Nothing is so fundamental to the sustained management of sawlog and pulpwood stands as a knowledge of their rates of growth and mortality. The suggested method of establishing permanent circular, plots for such studies is rapid and accurate. Here is a quick means for the practicing forester to implement his theories on growth and mortality.
