The purpose of the article is to propose recommendations for improving the system of indicators of the balance of regional transport infrastructure. The article’s methodology is based on theoretical generalization, structural analysis, and a systems approach. The state of models of balance of regional transport systems, indicators for optimizing transport infrastructure were analyzed, a system of indicators of balance of the transport system was developed. Recommendations were made that are new to the article. It was concluded that the use of a system of balance indicators to optimize regional transport infrastructure allows taking into account various aspects of the functioning and development of the transport complex. Each group of key figures should be evaluated for its flexibility and adaptability, which is an option that has an investment price. Adequate analysis of indicators helps to identify problem areas, determine priorities in the development and planning of investments.
