Ayurveda has undergone a profound transformation and renewed global interest in the modern era, shaped by the contributions of eminent practitioners. Vaidya Suresh Chandra Chaturvedi (1928–2017), recipient of the Padma Shri award in 2000, was a distinguished figure whose clinical innovations, academic leadership, and community health endeavors significantly shaped the discipline’s modern trajectory. This biographical study aims to document the multifaceted contributions of Vaidya Suresh Chandra Chaturvedi in Ayurvedic medicine, education, research, and public engagement, highlighting his influence on the modernization and internationalization of Ayurveda. A narrative biographical review was conducted using primary sources, including archival materials, personal communications with family members, photographs, and publications. Supplementary information was drawn from government records, award citations and credible secondary literature. Vaidya Suresh Chandra Chaturvedi’s six-decade career was marked by transformative contributions to Ayurveda as a great academician, scholar, researcher, and clinician. Through pioneering institutions like Arogya Niketan and Dhanwantari Medical Foundation, he advanced integrative and affordable healthcare. Renowned for patient-centric evidence-based management of chronic diseases and Ayurvedic oncology, he documented therapeutic outcomes in numerous case series. As a prolific scholar, he authored over 30 books in multiple languages, wrote a popular health column in Navbharat Times for 26 years, and cofounded the Neem Foundation, promoting global research and therapeutic potential of Neem ( Azadirachta indica A. Juss.). His international engagements, academic exchanges, and advocacy enhanced Ayurveda’s global standing. Honored with accolades including the Padma Shri (2000) and Charak Samman (2015), his legacy endures through active institutions, published works, trained disciples, and integrated hospitals established in his memory. Vaidya Suresh Chandra Chaturvedi’s legacy unites timeless Ayurvedic wisdom with contemporary healthcare, standing as both a historical testament and an enduring guide for future generations of Ayurvedic leaders.
